The ENERGY STAR program was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help consumers identify energy efficient products that save money and help protect the environment. Windows and doors that have earned the ENERGY STAR offer excellent energy efficiency and year-round comfort with reduced heating and cooling costs. Many Silver Line windows and doors meet the strict ENERGY STAR guidelines when ordered with appropriate energy efficient glass options.
The ENERGY STAR performance criteria for windows and doors is different depending on what region of the country the product is being installed. The ENERGY STAR climate map below shows how the country is divided into four regions: Northern, North/Central, South/Central and Southern. These four regions have different guidelines due to different climates.
